On going to use Creative Cloud app today I found that it had hung on loading, looking something like this: Creative Cloud hanging on load

I found that closing and reopening CC, then restarting my mac didn’t solve the problem.
After much Google digging I discovered that this is a common fault with the CC app, yet another bug that Adobe has given us to sort out.

However there was a cure (at least in this case), after following these instructions I was able to get the app back to normal:

Remove the opm.db file, restart your computer, and relaunch the Creative Cloud desktop app

  1. Quit the Creative Cloud desktop application from the gear icon in the upper-right corner.
  2. Browse to the following location based on your operating system to locate and delete the opm.db file.
    • Mac OS: /Users/<user folder>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE
Note: The \Users\<user folder>\Library\ is hidden by default after 10.7.
See the following document for instructions on accessing if necessary: Access hidden user library files | Mac OS 10.7 and later.
    • Windows: C:\Users\<user folder>\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE
Note: The AppData is hidden with Windows default settings. See the following document for instructions to show it if needed: Show hidden files, folders, filename extensions | Windows 8, 7, Vista, XP.
  3. Restart the computer and launch the Creative Cloud desktop application again.

There are other alternative solutions on the Adobe Creative Cloud help page, so if this doesn’t work then try there.

Hope this helps someone out!

Cheers,

Duncan.
